 Koach Eitan

Koach Eitan provides an understanding of what it is like to live a life affected by brain injury and aphasia.

With our awareness campaigns, projects, and initiatives, we hope to bring about more inclusion and connection, and less isolation.

We empower and provide families with the support they need to navigate their new realities.

What is a stroke?

Blood vessels that carry blood to the brain from the heart are called arteries. The brain needs a constant supply of blood, which carries the oxygen and nutrients it needs to function. Specific arteries supply blood to specific areas of the brain. A stroke occurs when one of these arteries to the brain is either blocked or bursts.

What is a aphasia?

Aphasia is an impairment of language, affecting the production or comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write. Aphasia is always due to brain injury - most commonly from a stroke but may also arise from head trauma, brain tumors, or infections.
